Azure Waters
Azure Waters is one of Honkai Impact 3rd's earlier colored comics. It was recapped by Lingyi Niang to recontextualize it for Guns GirlZ.
It tells the story of Bronya Zaychik's association with the Cocolia's orphanage, her relationship with Seele Vollerei and Sin Mal, and how the X-10 experiment changed Bronya and Seele's lives forever.

Synopsis
Bronya is captured by Cocolia in the tundra and sent to her orphanage. She meets Seele and Sin Mal, the former she befriends while the latter becomes an enemy. One day, Cocolia is doing experiments on the children’s Honkai adaptability, and Bronya performs well. This angers Sin Mal who attacks Bronya and breaks her legs. Seele is unable to help, and Bronya comforts her. Later, Seele is captured by soldiers who want to sell her as a slave. Bronya comes to the rescue and kills everybody. At the same time, a new personality emerges from Seele’s stigma. Seele is attacked by Sin Mal, but her other personality takes control and tortures Sin Mal in return. After that, Seele learns that Bronya is supposed to take part in the highly dangerous X-10 experiment. She negotiates with Cocolia to go instead of Bronya. The experiment fails, and Seele starts entering a quantum state. She tries to reach Bronya one last time but dissipates before. Bronya understands what’s happening and threatens Cocolia into taking part in the experiment. Since her legs weren’t healed yet, she starts being infected by the Honkai and loses the control of her emotions. She meets with Seele in the Sea of Quanta who makes her promise not to die here, but to meet her again in the future so they can go to the sea together. Seele gives the Armored Bunny 19C to Bronya, who wakes up and survives, with a new promise to try to bring Seele back to their world.

- In the Chinese description, 故事发生在《崩坏学园2》之前 (The story takes place before "Honkai Gakuen 2"), is copied through several manga up to Azure Waters. This is possibly the result of a miscommunication, since the manga storyline and Honkai Gakuen 2's storyline were decidedly separate, and Honkai Impact 3rd was already a publishing game by the time Azure Waters came out. The description was added when the manga were moved to a separate website. The description was never fixed, and the reason for the line's inclusion remains unknown, and a source of confusion for many.
- This manga marks the debut of "Seele" in the overarching story.
- Due to the time when it was released, this manga is one of the very few times Sin Mal is shown interacting with other characters in the story.
- There are a lot of pages left out in the English version as opposed to the Chinese version. However, the page showing Bronya and Seele's kiss in Chapter 11 was removed in the Chinese version due to censorship while it remained in the English version. In the Chinese site, the page was not replaced although physical copies show that there was a replacement for that scene.
