History
Varka is the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, but he has his subordinate Jean take care of the many tasks he doesn't find interest in. As a somewhat unruly leader he neglects part of his responsibilities to spend time on legendary conquests and the like, which he deems more important.[2]
Varka teaches Razor his first word in human language, "friend"[3], and how to fight with a sword. He's the one who gives him the name[4][5] his parents come up with.[6]
After the Knights of Favonius wipe out the bandit crew Rosaria is part of Varka brings her to Mondstadt and gives her a chance to live a normal life.[7]
Half a year before the Traveler arrives in Mondstadt Varka leads the elite Knights of Favonius on yet another expedition away from the city, leaving it in Jean's hands.[2] He brings the Seneschal[8] and all the cavalry[9] with him, leaving behind just one fifth of the knights.[10]
Months later Varka meets The Captain. While the expedition forces are stationed in the northernmost reaches of Teyvat to restock Varka writes a letter to the Knights in Mondstadt and has Mika deliver it.[6]
